BASE:ALFA, inizia venerdi 15 la fase invernale

Venerdi 15 gennaio 2010 inizia la seconda fase (fase invernale) della campagna di misure del progetto BASE:ALFA a S. Pietro Capofiume (BO). Al via anche il progetto SoMEx (Soil Moisture Experiment)...

Si apre il 15 gennaio 2010 la seconda fase della campagna di misure BASE:ALFA. Come per la fase estiva verrà raccolto un dataset sperimentale con il quale studieremo gli scambi di energia tra il suolo e l´atmosfera, il contenuto d´acqua disponibile nel terreno, la turbolenza nella bassa troposfera.

In concomitanza con il progetto BASE:ALFA parte il progetto SoMeX (Soil Moisture Experiment). Attraverso misure superficiali di umidità del suolo e le contemporanee misure satellitari da piattaforme Cosmo-SkyMed e Envisat valuteremo la validità dei prodotti da remote sensing per il miglioramento della previsione meteorologica dei fenomeni legati allo strato limite, come la nebbia.

It starts on the 15th of January the winter part of the measurement campaign under the BASE:ALFA project. For one month we will collect observations at the San Pietro Capofiume meteorological station. The measurements will be collected in a dataset which will be available for the characterization, modeling and verification of the atmospheric boundary layer processes.

 

During BASE:ALFA starts the SoMeX (Soil Moisture Experiment) project. Using surface measurements of soil moisture and co-located satellite observation from Cosmo-SkyMed and ENVISAT we will investigate the quality of remotely sensed inputs to improve the foreecasting of surface driven meteorological phenomena such as fog.
